2023 Memorial Day Edition
It’s Memorial Day Weekend, the unofficial start of summer. Last weekend’s poker run, fishing tournament, sailing regattas and 73-degree water temperatures jumpstarted the season of increased lake recreation.
Keeping SML clean and safe is everyone’s responsibility. Next month, we’re bringing the lake community together to do our part.

Freddy, the SMLA Safety Duck
Freddy the Safety Duck is fun, friendly, and always wears his life jacket on and around the lake. He’s hanging out at our Business Partner locations listed below until June 9th. Stop in any of the shops and ask about Freddy. Bring him to the SMLA booth at A Day At The Lake on June 10th and a prize will be waiting for you.

Thank you to the 364 volunteers who helped clean-up SML by removing 8.8 tons of debris from the shoreline and lake throughout May. The annual, all vounteer event is cooperatively managed by Tri-County Lakes Commission (TLAC), SML Regional Chamber of Commerce and SMLA. 2023 Blue Ridge Regatta
Blackwater Yacht Racing Association held its annual regatta last weekend.
