Community Invited to Celebrate SML’s 60th Birthday

Smith Mountain Lake, VA – Two local nonprofits are teaming together to put on a birthday party for Smith Mountain Lake. The community is invited! The Smith Mountain Arts Council (SMAC) and Smith Mountain Lake Association (SMLA) are hosting a sock hop with plenty of fun to mark the 60th year of the lake.

Music of the ‘50s and ’60s will be performed live by the SML Boomer Band. The evening will feature live music, dancing, diner style food, and plenty of nostalgia! Birthday cake, root beer floats and beverages are also included. The event is open to people aged 21 and older.

The event will take place on September 5 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the Smith Mountain Lake YMCA. Tickets are $50/person for SMAC and SMLA Members and $60/person for non-members. There is also an option to reserve a table of eight.  Every ticket supports the work of SMLA and SMAC.
