Call for Volunteers for SMLA Lake Days

The SMLA Education Committee will be partner with Bedford County Public Schools and the SML State Park for a second year to offer BCPS 9th grade environmental science students hands-on lake education this coming March/April. The program will serve around 200 students over the course of three days.

We are in need of volunteers to assist with the following activities:

  • Water Quality Monitoring
  • Save Our Streams
  • Various other activities related to the watershed and species found around the lake.

No experience is necessary.   

You can volunteer for one day or for all three Lake Days. Volunteers are needed from 9:00 a.m. to 1:15 p.m.

  • Monday, March 30
  • Tuesday, March 31
  • Wednesday, April 1
