Phillip Green, the newest SMLA Water Quality Monitoring program volunteer, takes a six foot deep water sample

Having recently completed the third of six bi-weekly sampling sessions, the latest water quality monitoring results are posted on the SMLA website.  Graphs compare the results of the current year with the average of the past 20 years. Results are shown for each of eight segments of the lake and for the lake as a whole.

While the first week of monitoring results were unfavorably impacted by several heavy rain events in the early part of May, all readings have improved substantially in subsequent monitoring sessions, putting them on par with the 20-year averages. This is an indication that the health of the lake continues to be excellent.
